25 ltd classic mosfet help

ok new project i pick up a 25 ltd classic philly made that has the mosfet mod done some how the tvi slug is missing if i put another in and bring it half would that be acceptable.?? also when checking wattage output using a 1000hz tone about 2 seconds in to the tunning the watts start to fall off like if something was getting hot even when talking the watts drop off is there a biasing resistor to add to the gate of the final to get better output i'm only seen 7 watts on the bird from 2 watts dead key. also a 100ohm resister was added from pin 1 to pin 10 of the audio chip anybody heard of this mod.?? also what diode can i use to replace d-9 ???.thanks

check that out already mod was done the rite way didn't help with problem also what do i replace d-9 with.???

The 25LTD uses a 1S2075K diode in all three versions (early, middle, and late) of the schematic available. You did say that it was a Philly; so i would guess it is an early chassis.
