1 dx coming in to my receive here at lunch on 10 meters, sounds like french. anyone else getting this? i was unable to reach them on my mobile or maybe they did not speak english.

there is a group of frenchies on 27.105 and 27.900 from time to time out here in cali its only late @ night tho, never during the day....

I am scanning 28.400 +/- 50 KCs and it is quiet,heard a station from south America on 420 but that was it

Well I had portuguese speaking stations on there on 10 meters on the drive home last night. 20 over 5x9. their qso was over 20 minutes but I never heard any id's.

do they not observe protocol to identify stations in south america?

You're assuming they're hams - but they may not be. Also, if they identify and you're not familiar with the language or dialect, you could easily miss it.

i may have missed it, but i do know enough spanish to know portuguese...they are both latin based and similar so that I can pick out quite a few phrases in the portuguese.

any way i did not interrupt the qso and they were still at it when I parked the car in the garage.

maybe another day i can get qso into south america.
