2KW BACKPACK!!

In part it is a cool set up
i am surprised he has that ability in power off the battery pack..

However..
He falls more into being a NUT..
That much power and so so close to his head..

I suspect he has been using it to long already..
For it has to have fried too many cells in his head..
For otherwise he would realize how possibly dangerous it is to be using so much power so close to where he is standing..

Oh well..
Still Quite interesting

Im with you Rob and I gues in an emergency what the hell who cares if its close to my head atleast Ide get help (y)

He's definately in the running for the next Darwin award. :D

I wonder what voltage it runs on. He was using a lithium polymer battery but I still find it hard to believe he has one hour of actually transmit time at 1 Kw. Besides, the power wires didn't look big enough for the current required at 12 volts regardless how short they were.

Rf exposure is different or more critical on certain bands the exposure limits have to be caculated although I wouldnt want any antenna running that much power anywhere close to my melon regurdless what frequency or band its operating on.

Seriously, I am considering walking and talking on 20w or 100w. I assume that I am safe and this guy is clueless, but.....?

Hey! listen up guys...................this is what America is all about.

Innovation and self sacrifice for the good of the world and the hobby.

Someone probably said "You cant build a backpack radio with that much power".

The man with the radio didn't ask "Why"? he just went ahead and did it.
