For some reason where I live in - Western Pennsylvania - most people do not use the 5 meters - hence there is no one to talk to.

At our clubhouse shack, we have a old crystal 6 meters radio and I have tried it on several occassions and I have yet to hear or talk to one single person on the dipole antenna - 25' above ground.

There is no one to talk to because there has not been a 5 meter amateur band since before WWII.:tongue::lol:

Sure there are people to talk to on 5m. The old 5m FM broadcasting band was from 42-49 MHz. There are lots of walkie-talkies and baby monitors still left on 49 MHz.
