I made my own interface to use with my 706MIIG, the first was with the data jack but I did not have any luck with it; the signal out is influenced by a squelch signal.

I used a RJ-45 plug to make my second one and connected it into the aux. mic plug. It is controlled by the volume control as well as the Mic Gain.
