I have a connex 3300hp that came with a 636L, when I switch over to the the D104 the static that I hear seems to go away and I can hear the locals alot better is this normal or is there a problem that needs to be adressed. use this radio as a base,rg213 coax, Imax2000 at 100ft at feed point, radio grounded,D104 is amplified. Thanks

So by changing microphones, the static you hear on receive gets better?? Doesn't sound normal to me. It could be a connection in the 636L microphone plug that is causing it though. Have you tried re-soldering it?

Thestonerguy,

kind of hard to explain but there seems to less noise or static with the D104. It dont make sense to me but im still learning.thanks for the input i will look at my 636L and see if anything is loose.

dont be so hard on yourself Sarge , you asked for help and got some advise . It's all good dude. (-: after all these years ,I still need all the help I can get. After 20 years around this hobby ,IM still learning about things that I really didn't even give a second thought about, once upon a time ago ,I guess in my older years I've gotten a little bit more interested it what and how ? makes this stuff work other then just working it....that tends to be the easy part. (-:
