That's just to get an idea how the control is attached to the bezel.
Use a little flat screwdriver and a piece of cloth.
Place the cloth on the edge of the bezel and place the screwdriver behind the knob, the piece of cloth is to protect from marks to the bezel, just don't overdue, sometimes takes a little patience.

do you know how to remove the chrome plastic from the metal part.Id really like to get that off so i can do some othe mods easier. and is the pc68xl like that? it looks like all of the switches and whatnot are all fixed to the plastic somehow but i doubt that will be the case ill take a look at it when i get home. but thanks 995 for the diagram. and thanks tecnicoloco for your help. thats why i joined this forum.

Thanks for your other tip im sure that will work i dont know how i didnt think of that before with all of the Cb's ive taken apart lately. thats how the rest of them come off. haha im a goof ball sometimes

73's all I CANT WAIT TO GET MY DX2547 FINALLY A REAL PROFESsional radio!! and hopefully ill get an A99 WAHOO I love christmas.

Bigred,

Like Tecnicoloco said, I just meant that as an example. Your's should be very similair, though I haven't dissassembled one.

To answer you other question, on each end of the plastic chrome face plate there should be two small screws.

pop all the knobs off ,(they should pull off or use a screw driver to help them on there way) the switch nut should be under the knob , if it is ,you can use a needle nose plyers to take off or tighten up ,(you can then carefully push the switch through) if the nut is not under the knob ? then proceed to the 2 little screws on each side of the face plate (bezel) then you can pull the whole thing off , then you will see your nuts on the chassy assemble , like in the pic 995 sent you , it's not rocket science, good luck to you and just take your time. Peace
