I just wanted some input from operators that have used the 746pro and either of the other 2 radios listed.

I currently have a 746 pro and non pro, and find that I like the non pro rx better. I have never had the chance to use either kenwood and since im interested in sky command I figured Id ask people opinions that have touched them both. Im more concerned with performance than ergonomics.

PS, I have read the eham reviews to death haha

I use the TS-2000 daily. I didn't buy it for the 'Sky Command' feature. I did buy it because it is a 'shack in the box' and the RX and TX audio are xlnt. Not the best; but xlnt. The software (ARCP-2000) is a real zinger - I like it! It is the only way to have the radio to its fullest - IMO. Better than HRD; but you can do the digi stuff with HRD though.

I had the 746 and the 746 Pro. I really liked the display on the Icom rigs compared to the TS-2000. I've played with the TS-2000 briefly, but not enough to have an informed opinion on its TX/RX capabilities compared to the Icom rigs. I know that I didn't care for the PC / sound card interface on the TS-2000.

Im with you on the display. I currently have a 746 pro and non pro, and find myself using the non pro more often. The kenwood display will likely not be an issue since I will be using the rig for remote use.

I have a TS-2000 and traded a IC-746Pro and I still like the 2000 better. I love that shack in box concept and it works great.

I dont like Icoms,

never have, never will...if you have one dont let it get to old, they are know to not carry parts for there older radios,Kenwood and Yeasu do...Had a dealing with that twice...You cant beat the sound of a Kenwood,i bought a new FT450d and dont have a problem with it,but it dont have the sound of my old ts520 or any of my other radios.Fantastic radio,it was a hard choice between the ts590 ot the FT450d...and i still would pick my FT450d...never have another Icom, but i still say you didnt say anything about the best,hehe...TenTec,have had a few of them also, and wish i never sold my Corsair2...73 de JW

There are two companies in Germany that stock hard to find parts for Kenwood. Name escapes me, but when my laptop is fixed I'll post the link.

They also have a good supply for Alinco.
