Went from dropping 1.6 volts to .3 volts.
The tough part was finding the right plug to modify. It has to be a 2 piece that uses screws.
I soldered the pins directly into the 8 gauge wire then filed the plug end until i could get the pins in the plug. A little shrink tube and it was done.
I never realized there was that much loss in that one cable.

(Nice looking work!)

20+ foot main power circuit in the KW.
6-AWG keeps volt drop under .5 (under 20A total draw).

POWERWERX PD-75 to distribute juice among three (3) devices. Supplied radio cord length shortened by being wrapped thru fat snap-on ferrite ahead of transceiver.

Use of this small-but-heavy buss bar 12V panel (APP-ended cords) makes swaps E-Z. (Available on the shelf at HRO).

Granted, amp & transceiver are separate. The 1.5’ lead to amp is light gauge. Bigger amps run the same way, but heavier main & final power cords and/or shorter main circuit length.
