Grounding is a must on the good idea list of things to do. Grounding is good to do for a few reasons but its not always a cure for RF splatter and Ive seen in 2 cases where grounding made it worse
.
You have to keep in mind its all trial and error in the radio world "what works for one guy may not work for the next wIm sure we have all seen this at one time or another in the radio hobby.
The biggest problem is dirty signals coming from over driven amplifiers and over modulated radios that are being pushed beyond the spectrum. I have seen where the RF was not a problem but the Roger Beep woold be the one thing that would stray into TV's ETC.
Your radio and antenna setup or antenna location is the obvious place to start. The good thoing is most households are nodays running cable or satlite TV which helps out alot. I know some TV;s are still prone to RF no matter what the hell a person does and this is the bad and frustrating for a person.
As far as noise in a toaster Ive seen and heard it all
When I was younger I got my fist tube amplifier and it was a 1,500 watt houisehold electronics wrecking crew!! It came through "VERYTHING" The kitchen alone sounded like an amusement park. Which wasnt good because I and my wife were living with my parents at the time because that was when I first started my battle with Cancer.
My dad had just bought this new fancy bigscreen and I was literally wiping it out!! My dad walked into the kitchen after his brandnew TV was going nuts and he then heard his kitchen humming clicking beeping as the lights also flickered. He approach me and told me in these exact words which Ill never forget "If I messed up his new TV in anyway the radio setup would be stuffed up my @$$ aerial and all!!"
Needless to say I talked to my wife about it and figured it would be best if I took the amplifier back to the shop I bought it from and traded it in something else!!! LMAO!!
