Fired, but trying to get there jobs back, and possibly looking for a new job in your city.
One officer, Dario Socarras, was filmed drinking coffee for nine minutes while allegedly ignoring emergency dispatch orders on a call for an unconscious 5-month-old baby, Local10 reports.

His supervisor, Sgt. Jennifer Gonzalez, was sitting at the cafe with Socarras -- and was also recorded shopping while on duty at stores like Target and Lowes, brushing off work to rendezvous with her boyfriend, and visiting her parents in Cutler Ridge when she should have been on the job, according to CBS.

i would not even hire them to feed my hogs...

many years ago on many occassions i rode with my cousin in a large city, it was divided into sectors and only one officer per very large sector. he never had a lunch or coffee break.

one time calls were slow and we attempted to get a cup of coffee at a 7-11, got to the store door when he got a call for an officer in the adjoining sector requesting back up for shots fired as that officer had responded to a call, my cousin turned around and ran back to the car, i followed and we proceeded to head to the adjoining sector at a rather high rate of speed.

sad that these police officers don't have what it takes.

Ever since Bay of Pigs, many Miami residents vote GOP. In regards to the suspects, just consider if all but one were members of a Guard/Reserve unit receiving veteran's compensation for post traumatic stress (which explains disensitization to urgent calls) and seeking a total evaluation through their vfw/ dav service reps. If fired, there is a good chance that the city/ county will have to do so on the basis of mental disability. Early retirement with $3K/mo tax free as a veteran; another $2K+/mo from State gov, another $$$ thru SSDI and the opportunity for college or continue working for private security business (unless firearm license is revoked due to incompetency). Some sources are saying that fraud cannot be ruled out!

I'm retired public safety with 30 years total. I bought my 8 years active duty military service to round out my 22 years into 30.

We always said it took an act of God to get fired. I've seen dudes do stuff that you'd swear they'd get canned for. They would be fired, file an appeal with the SERB board, arbitration and all that jazz and be back to work with back pay.

That is a Shame..

I am for a continued job for those who serve and do reasonably well and better...

Not though when one Clearly does Not belong...

Oh Well

Public safety & civil service are some of the noblest, yet thankless careers in the US. Workers put their life on the line & withstand endless complaints/ insults from a public that often have no clue about governing statutes or regulations. Unless one reaches the echelons of upper management (mostly appointed thru politics rather than skill/experience), wages paid to civil servants & safety officers barely suffice to maintain a modest middle class lifestyle. But when economics go south and the crowd living in mansions, driving Jags/ Beamers/ Lexus, going hog-wild thru Wall Street begin to lose their status symbols, they turn around to criticize government and those that still working to drive their Kias/Toys/ Jeeps or to pay for endless mortgages. The true LLL (lame, laid-back & lazy) should be extricated from the force, but I cannot pass judgment on the basis of reports put together by starved news media outlets seeking to increase circulation (despite authority commanded by the so-called evidence). CBS reached the pinnacle of credibility thru 60 Minutes, but they should've never started to franchise their name to local news outlets.
