Big thanks to WWDX, Retevis, and everyone who liked my picture. I won two of the HA1G hand held radios in the September contest which surprised me because I never win anything. Unfortunately due to a hiccup with the currier in China, I did not receive the radios until November 6 th.

Here is the link to purchase:

The radios come with a charging base, USB cord, wrist strap and manual. Like most electronics now days, it did not come with a USB charging cube to plug into the wall. Not a big deal as most people have a few extras that can be used. The battery itself also has a USB c port to charge direct which is a nice touch. I tested the standby time and it went over 65 hours and then started to beep before it completely died.

The radios have a nice big screen that can be configured several different ways in the menu. The radios also have a robust feel to them that reminds me of the high dollar Motorola units that we use at work. I would not be afraid to drop the HA1G on the floor.

The radios have an IP67 rating which means that it can stay under water one meter deep for 30 minutes. This is convenient for people fishing or boating, although it doesn't float like some marine radios. The best part is that at the end of the day working in dusty conditions, you can wash the radio off when you wash your hands.

I tested it out in the duck pool at my mother in laws house. The ducks wanted nothing to do with me, but I am sure they will enjoy the fresh water I gave them.
