If 85 watts on FM is not enough then you need a better antenna. More power is desirable however if you are running SSB or some other weak signal mode but as for FM I have never seen the need for the 50 watts I have.
Specifications say only 39 CTCSS tones. Most contemporary mobiles have 50 tones. There is at least one repeater near me
which uses a tone not included in older radios with only 38 or 39
tones. I have such an older mobile which won't key that repeater. So maybe you should check out the tones you need before you
purchase this radio.
Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.
