All is well again

Like when there are no prints, and you have to tug every wire to see where it goes. Then scribble something on a piece of cardboard so you can remember what is what.........
And The Craftsman said "what are wire markers and ty-wraps?".

On one such occasion it was actually quicker to gut it and rewire the damn thing rather than troubleshoot.

Or you didn't terminate your lines...

Just so some people know, the CMOS/MOS gating functions do not run any sort of termination.

So selection of the logic input impedance - it is set by the boards own I/O termination resistor - per line - if any is used.

Nowadays, with the proliferation of so many clones and copycats, the subjective effort to "Tune" the input and output to sync with a ringing effect to augment the clocking drivers back then in the TTL to what we use today - that art of echo and termination - seems to have been lost.
