ALPHA V-5/8 LOST GROUND PLANES ?

Let's just say he lost his north and west side sections of his ground planes to major winds , on channels 1 thru 9 he's about a 1.5 to 2.0 , from 10 to 40 is a climb to 3.0 in the red , would he be safe enough to talk on the few lower channels until the antenna can be replaced or repaired ?

Depends entirely on how much the radio/amplifier objects to a 2 or 3 to 1 SWR. Can't say for your radio or amplifier, but can say that the higher the SWR goes the less they will like it. So...
