I've been having a lot of success with the longevity of Blackview branded Android tablets for my kids. They are Chineseum of course. Looks like a Lenovo tablets with the generic name. Anyway, my older son managed to break of the inner piece of the USB-C recharging jack. My soldiering skills are on par with my finger painting skills. Do we have any computer, laptop tablet repair gentleman on here? I can box it up and send it to get the USB C jack replaced. Just looks like the jack needs replaced, but then the tablet will need opened up and the screen and digitizer will need to be taken out to get to the component board. The tablet lasted about 20 months. It was a 125.00 tablet, I was happy to discover this manufacturer. It could be replaced, but I am trying to show him that things can be repaired and to be careful with his stuff. Happy Holidays to All.

There are bound to be people out there with the parts, tools and skills all three to perform that repair. Yeah, a damaged socket used to be a simple repair. Now, not so much.

Is there a "ifixit" franchisee in your neighborhood? Pretty sure this is the kind of job they solicit.

Many thanks. I have no problem doing any type of PC, Mac repair, but the soldering iron is my nemesis. I have to build two PCs for my boys for Christmas. Both will be Dell chassis with all recycled parts. Seems silly, I always end up with a mess if I touch a soldering iron. I should really learn that skill. Have Merry Christmas.

A repair like this most likely would require the replacement of at least the screen and possibly the back, depending on the construction of the device. The soldering most likely would have to be done with hot air and not an iron due to the small size of the component connections.
Find a phone repair place local to you. That's going to be your best bet to have it repaired, but be aware that most likely it's going to be cheaper to replace it than to fix it.

Found this on Amazon.

This. I had the jack come right out of one of my girlfriends kids tablets. Guy at the phone repair place quoted an outrageous price to fix it and then offered a used tablet for a fraction of the price of repairing the old one. Easy decision!

What Blackview tablet do you have? The 12, 13, 15, 80 plus other Blackview USB-C boards are all sold on AliExpress and elsewhere. Most are connected with a ribbon cable inside and the boards are simply attached with screws. No soldering required. I see that some of the boards even provide you with installation tools.

When I replaced the USB-C charge/data port on my tablet a couple of years ago, it was no soldering required. I got the new part off Amazon for $20. It was a bit tricky opening it up and getting too it to replace it but it was not that bad and FAAARR cheaper than replacing it. It was a $600 tablet, well worth the $20 and a little elbow grease.
