Another 1104c

I just hooked up one today. Does work well, I'm impressed. I don't like the battery compartment setup. The light weight, cheap plasticky feel doesn't help the experience.

Do like all the manufacturers now, Klondike Mike... stick a big weight in it and make it feel "substantial". They do sound good, though.

The later run models use a cheaper plastic probably to cut costs. The older one had a heavier base as well. Built like a d-104 (or a Turner +3) they are not but they sure do sound better.

I question whether the mic in the auction is actually NOS/NIB and never used. What's that button on the rear of the mic for?

Can't tell if it has a mic connector or not, but it kind of looks like it does. The cord itself makes me think it was used, too. Still, it's in pretty darned good shape. I'm not familiar with the knob on the back, but wonder if it's to calibrate what looks to be that little meter in the neck base. Or it could be a noise toy. :tt2::lol:

The 1104CM had a battery meter built in, the button on the back is to engage the load so the meter reads correctly.

P.S. I agree its not "new"

The 1104c came out first so in theory the 575 is the mobile version of the 1104c. I own/owned both and they sounded nearly identical when hooked to the same rig.

Good condition used, not NOS... still, as long as the bidding doesn't get stupid, it would probably be worth 75 bucks or so.

I've picked up nice Turner mics much cheaper than that, though.

i have never seen this one with a meter before .pretty cool .i have owned a couple 1104c mics though and they do sound good . the plastic makes them feel cheap though .
and those little sliders for volume and tone tend to break on ya .

i have one of those slider tabs in my parts bin in like a cream/white color .in non broken form .if anyone needs it let me know .

I just picked up a 1104C on eBay and I can't wait to hook it up and try it out. These mics. seem to be pretty hard to find and they can be pretty pricey on eBay.
