Well here is another Satellite Station in the process of being set up.

Dave, my SAT Elmer, is in the process of getting his station back together and I spent the morning with him erecting a tower.

He Picked up a 40' Rohn 25 Tower for $100, Great Price and the tower is in nice shape.

Dave uses a Icom IC-910H Radio with Circular Polorized Gulf Alpha antennas and AR PreAmps on both 440 and 2m.
I'll get more pictures as I help him get everything up and running.

NEW base setup!

Looks GOOD.I just picked up another 50 ft of Rohn 25 with the top section & a rotor shelf from a local ham friend for $50.I sold 1 section to another local since I only wanted 40 ft. for my PROTON 99 that will have about 6 ft of pipe out the top.Waiting on arrival of an UNMODED DAK MK IX that should be here about Wednesday or Thursday. It will make a NICE full time AM station & it looks NEW from the PICS so we will see.

You guys are getting too good at this. Want to come over to my place and figure out where to put and install a tower?

I would love to come out to Cali for a few days, of course the consulting fee's would be kind of steep :D .

The nice thing about Satellite setups is that they dont have to be too high up, you just need to get high enough to clear obstacles. Daves setup should work pretty well he has some tree's to the north that might be a problem on low passes but he will still be able to work them for most of the pass.

Hopefully we will get his rotator and antennas up today or tomorrow, he doesnt have any excuses now hehehe he has been off the air for a while since they just moved into the farm.

I'll post up more pictures when we get the rest of the stuff up in the air, he has a nice Gulf Alpha antenna array.
I even got some credit with my callsign in the concrete ..

Great job looks good and solid. In a few days when the crete dries then the fun/work starts installing the antennas and rotor.

Thanks for the pics W1MED.

Actually its all set right now, Dave called me this morning and he was wiring up his G-5400B Rotator and should be picking up a cross boom tonight.
Tomorrow I will probably go over and help him with the antenna's.

I found a Great cross boom for the Yaesu Rotators. Its a 1.25" Schedule 40 PVC Pipe, it fits perfectly in the rotator, then you add a wooden closet hanger dowel, it fits a touch loose inside the PCV but when you tighten up the clamps its perfect, and is real sturdy. I sprayed mine with some clear UV protectant paint so I should get plenty of life out of it.

I need to go back up my tower to mount my preamps, I just ordered the AR2 2m Preamp today and should have it tomorrow as the are just down the road in CT.

Anyway more pictures to come ..
