Now this Pace sidetalk 1000B is the 23 channel xtal matrix version.
Anyone noticed the discrepancies between the the original Pace 1000M-1000B service manual and the sam's vol 94 and 104?
C-247 to C-250 adjustments are listed different in each version in the synthesizer alignment, and each manual say's ((if the tolerances cannot be obtained C241 can be adjusted to bring frequencys into tolerance)). On this particular radio i'm aligning. i found that C241 doesn't change all frequency's and it's axially a guess whitch one it is??? and it only changes the frequency of channels 1 through 4 only.
Since there's discrepancies in these adjustment's, What i did was hook the freq counter to TP1 and in lsb mode, Tune the signal generator to channel 1 and the radio to one, Listen to the tone and adjust each one of the cores just a bit to find which one changes the tone in the speaker and make a road map of it's location. Also note there will be a 2nd adjustment that will change the tone every time you change the channel's , You will then map each one separate and the 2nd adjustment that is on every channel.
I did that same on channels 1,2,3,4,8,12,16,20 and 23 until i had it mapped out.

Pace was a scattershot outfit. That radio was made in at least two if not three versions. The one with the double-sided circuit board had problems with 'griplets', pins that were soldered into the board that bridged a connection from topside foil to bottomside foil. Had to be resoldered more often than a 1990s Galaxy mobile.

So I have a cobra 138xlr and the meter dose not work... It dose not key up and signal dose not work.... It is not stuck it the meter moves freely. now wires are resoldered on both ends...So now that do I look at. Could it be a diode or a transistor?
