I have an AA-30 by RigExpert but find I'm needing VHF as well as UHF. Anyone have an AA-600 or AA-520? If so, your thoughts.

thanks

I have the AA-54 and found it to be far better and more useful than the MFJ 259b which I consider to be antiquated now a days.

Check Rig experts web page because they have new models that have color screens and other features that will be available soon.

To answer your question, I don't own either one now but I'm considering the AA-170 and possibly the new AA-230 zoom when it's available depending on the price. I should have bought the AA-170 to start with.

The reason I don't feel the need for an analyzer to check above the VHF frequencies is because the antennas I use for VHF/UHF are dual band antennas and if 2 meters is good, then 440 MHz is usually good enough.

For me, I can't justify the extra expense which is about $250.00 for the AA-600 just to check 440 MHz.

If you run mono band antennas and/or make your own UHF antennas, then I can see stepping up to the AA-600.

That's my thoughts, good luck!

I should have at least gotten the AA-170 as well but didn't.
Never thought about id vhf is good then so should UHF. Maybe I'll just grab the 170 instead of the 600. Still pondering.

I have the Rigexpert AA-600 - it is awesome. FWIW, some of the local guys that run 440 repeaters have used this analyzer at repeater locations where there is quite a bit of RF from all of the various radio services. Where other analyzers have failed to work due to RFI, the Rigexpert AA-600 has worked without a hitch.

When I first got mine, the keyboard had a minor problem: The on/off key just wouldn't work reliably. I submitted a support request and a new keyboard was shipped out right away. Problem solved.

I love the ability to save analyzer plots and then later look at them in detail on your PC using the supplied software. I love being able to sweep 5 bands on a multiband antenna at once! In fact, I can't really think of anything I don't like about this unit.
