I have no experience with the antennas in the discussion but I personally run a dipole in the attic that does me well. Before that at my previous home I used the maco v5000 which I now have stored and I have to say the maco did really well for several years. Lots of dx with that thing! When I pulled it down after about 5 years everything was in tip top shape other than a little weathering to the rubber end caps on the radials. I don't ever hear the maco's get much love and not really sure why because it did me really well. I'll add that I used it only for the 11 meter band. Aluminum and stainless clamps so there isn't anything that'll wither away quickly, especially here in the Panhandle of Texas where summers are intense hot and icy cold winters.
