did a few searches here cause i know i recall a few threads tha had ANTI-OXIDANTS mentioned in them . didnt show up though .... oh well .....

i found this article about them .....
CB World Informer February 1997 Issue - Emperor TS-3010 Review
whats recomended thats easy to find ? seems i recall a post mentioning something at lowes/home depot ? itll be used in a compression type fitting with 3/4" copper and 1" aluminum pipe .

LOL @ MOJO !!
got a tube of NOALOX at home depot today .

saw this there ......
IDEAL INDUSTRIES, INC. - Duct Seal

would this be good to use around the 259 after its securely attached to the antenna ? and also cover the joints in the elements sections ? wondering if it might be a good moisture barrier to prevent corrosion/shorts .

For around the PL-259, I just use black Hi-Temp RTV Silicone that you get at any auto parts store. Works great.

For the PL259s I wrap them in a layer of electrical tape, then a layer of CoaxSeal. That way if I ever have to remove the connector I can just run a knife down the CoaxSeal and peel it off then unwrap the tape. BTW - the CoaxSeal is reusable. When my beam goes up (as soon as we have some decent weather) I plan on using NOALOX on the elements where they slide together and will seal the seams with a bead of CoaxSeal.
