Anyone have an easy home remedy to keep ants from running along the coax and towards the house? I noticed a frass pile in the bathroom the other day, damn carpenter ants.

I looked and watched a steady trail of them coming up the coax. My entry holes are sealed, but they hitch a ride and crawl off elsewhere. Neighbor said use wheelgrease, didn't work well. I bought some expensive ant bait off Ebay and using it now, but I have a heavily wooded backyard and most likely have many colonies.

Wondering if anyone has/had same problem and found a deterrent.

Regular old bleach will also work.

Find the colony and put regular grits, not instant grits, the regular kind that needs to be cooked. Grits swell when they have moisture. It will not eliminate the colony but it sure reduces the amount of ants.

beat me to it COB ;)
