Like a Behringer B-1 Large-Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Mic to their CB....how did it sound...and how did you do it? :)

W2ihy sells an equaliser that i often hear mentioned in dxland called eqplus. Its really dear though.

Well so much for a studio mic......found a deal on a D-104 with a chrome 10-DA head I could not resist....run that into a EQ and it should sound tits. :)

If we only had the bandwidth and radios were designed for this kind of mic. Go with the D-104. No eq needed. It was designed as a communications microphone. I had studio mics and racks of gear until I saw the light.

READ THIS!!! ESSB HiFi SSB transmitter bandwidth splatter

That issue has been on this forum before. Covered the Pros and Cons. If you read that series I wrote, you will find that there is nothing wrong with cool audio. It certainly doesn't splatter - unless it has been done incorrectly.

A D-104 with a CB radio that had a golden screwdriver in there is certainly going to be the #1 culprit for splatter. Not a guy running less than 100% ALC on SSB running 4kc wide with audio gear. Nice audio is fun and it makes for better communications. I have even been able to use it on 10m DX with a beam and still get fantastic reports.

Success with eSSB - is all in the details . . .

His audio is not even mid-fi,he is just using a mixer to inject audio to the front mic connector :p
Yup.
I've heard some guys use a mic into a computer and then use the sound card output into a radio. Must say that is one way to do it. But that takes a lot of work and a matching transformer too. Can be done; but wouldn't recommend it.

15 watts swinging to 60 is be OK if he had 100% modulation.
7.5 watts swinging to 60 if he has the NPC mod in it with 200% modulation.
But 3 watts dead key - and 70 watts peak?

The mic will work; just isn't what I would use - but OK.
At least he has the right idea and he made it simple to do with the stuff he had on hand. Except for the mixer - of course.
