This is what I have found about the puff/pop noise. Microphone facing your voice, and not talking sideways across the mic. If the top of the mic is slightly angled toward your voice, then the pops/puffs are bad. If the bottom of the mic is angled slightly towards your voice, then the mic works better at least for me.
