Well, this year on July 4th, the band conditions absolutely stank throughout the day.  I tried both 20m and 40m off and on all afternoon and couldn't muster much of anything.  I could barely hear the 13 Colonies special event way down in the noise floor on 20m, but couldn't copy anything over there.  Nevertheless, I tried over and over and logged a few contacts:
