RCI 2950DX Image Rejection Modification

is the issue encountered by CBWI still happening with new 2950DX radios being sold these days ?

also is the white noise issue still something that needs attention or has it been fixed at RCI befor hitting the market ?

what is the frequency coverage of the 29xx radios after being made 11 meter capable ?

I believe they still have this same problem today. Ranger has not put much effort into improving these radios in my honest opinion.

orange face frequency 26.0000 mhz-32.0000 mhz recieveing.

dx (green or new black face) (convertable model's, not all are) 24.0000 mhz-32.0000 mhz recieving.

afaik they are still "broken". my dx picked up quite a lot of noise from powerlines and street light's on the freeway. after modding it went away. it easly overpowered a s3 signal so it cut the already poor recieve way down.

I understand with the way the bleedover was described in that review that it would be so bad that it would wipe out more than 40 channels. I hadn't found that a problem talking to a local a mile away on a 2970n2 which should be the same radio as the bleedover was only noticeable 1-2 channels away which is comparable to any other radio. I tried the (posted by loosecannon((posted by robalo)) white noise fix but it didn't make any change to mine. The white noise is not that bad though.
Mine developed output power instability after a month so personally i'll never touch a surface mount ranger again. I got a dual final president grant classic to replace it though so if I can figure out how to wire the keying relay I'll be all set as it has the same case.
