Yet if you knew code, you would be surprised to realize that it is just as fast as texting, those with 20wpm skills even faster, especially with all the abbreviations and acronyms used in both modes.  It is also still one of the best modes under poor radio conditions. Smoke signals once worked for our Native Americans. Fog horns, signal lights and waving flags are still used on ships and elsewhere under certain conditions.  They learned firsthand the value of code.  Funny how people tap SOS on anything they can find when they‘re trapped somewhere.  Too bad that’s the only 2 letters they know when someone signals back.  Code still has it place until they can come up with something just as basic or fundamental.  I’m just an old fart that thinks they should bring back cursive writing in our schools too, but what do I know? Although difficult at times, I try not to hate what I don’t understand.  Question everything, but leave out the hate.  Hate is merely a hindrance to learning something new.  For my two kids in their youth, that applied to broccoli and brussel sprouts too…
