folks been known to get shocked on those metel cords when running power with them , I agree they look nice , but I've heard the stories to many times concerning those. I would just go with the regular styled 636 and leave it at that. A little less cheaper as well but basically the same mic other then the extra foo foo.

DDDaaaaaaaayyyuummmmmm...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hadnt thought of that .

didnt take long to decide on this one .

i remember those mikes well

back in the day i used the tear drop D104-636 with tone
always worked well for me

i used the basic cord and never had a problem in the years i used the mike

I have the metal cord, do yourself a favor and do not get the metal cord.
It is a big pain in the ass. You will be much better off with the standard cord.

I had the same problem LOL.
It is like talking in to one of those removable showed heads.

I have repaired several of these metal cords, and they are a pain the in the rear. You have to peel the metal conduit with pliers and then dremel or file off all sharp edges off or it will puncture the cord and like someone said before running power will shock you or it will cause a short. The cords are heavy; and in a mobile installation it will put a lot of strain on the plug end and the head of the microphone. Not worth it; and they clank hard on the interior when you have to hit the brakes and it is not easy to coil if hanging from ceiling of cab.
