This is my first post on this forum so I would like to thank everyone ahead of time for input. The house I live in has a history of lighting strikes to any externally mounted antenna. It is a two story brick farm house orginally constructed in 1892. I am currently running a 1/2 aluminium GP, for the early 80's "the one that looks like a jack- center mast-with three radials," it is at 15 feet in the yard with RG8/u coax. I will be able to get up to just over 24 feet and be at the highest point around if I place an antenna in my attic. I only run barefoot CBs. 'Just sold my only kicker. I am debating between an A99 flatside in the attic, or a Double Bazooka. I would like to use about a 98 foot run of RG8x, due to flexability, to get back to the radios in the basement. I did a search of the site and found a few older posts of forum members being please with a flatside A99 and the Double Bazooka in the attic, but I would still like some current input if available.
Thank you,
