Snooping around and found 2 Texas Star amps today. A DX 250 HDV Killer Bee and a DX 350 HDV Black Widow. Both were still in original sealed boxes, never opened and never used. All paperwork and both had mounting brackets.

My dad must have ordered these back in the early 90's. I also found my old Mod V and another solid state mobile amp that I've never seen before.

I hooked up both TS's on my 980 and both work great with good reports. I've only scratched the surface of his horde pile.

I like finding stuff...

That Black Widow 350 brings back memories, had a 250 and a 350 just like that many years ago, the 250 had a black and blue face, and the 350 was black and red, just like that one...yours both look mint.
Post a pic of the unknown amp for us to drool over lol.

I lowered the DK on my 980 to 1.5 Watt. Fired up my old trusty Mod V. Seeing around 100 watts or less. I haven't used it since 92 or so when I drove to the Outer Banks with my first wife. I believe it was 1992.

I'm glad it still works. I thought it was smoked.

I'll hook up the other amp in a day or so.

I have a feeling that amp will work just fine. I'm surprised my dad had the TS amps. I thought he may have picked them up in a trade or something. Both boxes were addressed to him, so he had to have bought them. I have a feeling he was going to put them in his car or RV, but didn't materialize.

His Alzheimer's and Parkinson's have an awful grip on him. I may ask about them when I visit tomorrow.

Nice find (y) I run a 250 like that in my pickup. Only difference is my am button is green. I got it on a trade years ago. Its been passed around a couple of the locals here. Its been run hard for years and still works as it should. Good little amp.

Looks like a 9 pole Chebyshev filter to me. I also see a forward biased diode connected to the input transformer. That could be relocated to the top of a transistor or heatsink for some thermal tracking. According to the date code on the old school stud mounted TRW's, it was made around 1980.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Nice attic finds though, and if your Dad is like my Dad was, he'd want you to have them and use them.
