Are you sure that was a ham fest and not a CB/Freebander fest?

I did like the looks of those mounting brackets however. : Were they aluminum or stainless? They look aluminum but at least they look fairly heavy.

Speaking of the cb/freebander thing, I always found it highly confusing that any hamfest I've been to and/or seen pictures of looked a lot like what you posted but if you were to post said items on a ham only radio forum you would be ran out of town.

That's because a lot people would prefer to sit behind a keyboard and flame someone than to have the balls to say what they think in person.

the MFJ one? maybe an mfj-1713, hard to tell

Ahhhh.... Peninger. I just visited their website. Nice stuff but some of it is kind of pricey.
