Hello from Down Under, (or should I stay in character and say "G'day"?)..
Southern Peninsula Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) will hold it's second Rosebud RadioFest on Sunday 24th November, commencing 10:00 am (EDST) at the Eastbourne Primary School Auditorium and grounds, near the corner of Curlew Drive and Allambi Avenue, Rosebud, Victoria, Australia.
It's hard to believe that nearly a year has passed since the Southern Peninsula Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) staged it's inaugural Rosebud RadioFest, in the heart of Victoria's beautiful Mornington Peninsula region!
Well, our first effort received so much positive feedback, we've had no difficulty in making the big decision to go again in 2013.
Once again, we are thrilled to have the backing of Eastbourne Primary School's Staff & Volunteers, and that means it all happens in the huge Eastbourne Auditorium in Allambi Avenue, Rosebud West, on Sunday 24th November 2013.
SPARC members have put together a fantastic programme of speakers, displays, forums, traders & more, from all over Australia.
Highlights will be:
THE ACMA, Presenting their popular"UPDATES & LATEST HAPPENINGS";
A display by ICOM Australia, presenting the incredible new IC-7100, with talks & demos by ICOM reps as well as the chance to see one of these amazing rigs up close.
A Home Brewing section, to stimulate your creative urges;
The Australian Vintage Radio Society's stunning array of immaculately restored classic radios;
Technical forums including;
EME - Getting a start in Moonbounce;
VSWR Testing - Calibrate your SWR meter
Electromagnetic Radiation Physiology - Fact & Calculation
as well as Show & tells, Ham Radio Vehicles, WICEN, ALARA & others;
Something special, The CFA's Scania Heavy Pumper, plus Rosebud Fire Brigade's brand new state-of-the-art Light Pumper as well as Peninsula Fire Brigade Group's amazing Forward Ops Vehicle. (Check out the comms capabilities fitted to these fascinating firefighting appliances & talk to their highly-trained & knowledgeable crews.)
Eastbourne Primary School's Ultra QRP FM radio station. Have a look at what these kids are doing with 10 micro watts.
The W.I.A., on hand to answer your every question, with a huge range of books & goodies for sale.
Tables free to clubs & organisations wishing to publicise their activities;
Fantastic door prizes to add a bit more spice!
Full catering at reasonable prices, so you won't go hungry.
We have the best catering in VK!
Talk-in on 146.675 (VK3RSP) & 439.850 (VK3RPU) from 7:30 am
And Much, much more!!
