Noise drives me nuts. I'll spend weeks finding rattles and sounds. The electrical noise is no different. Check each sensor, plug wire, plug, fuel injector one by one. My buddy says "just turn on the noise blanket, that's what its for". Well yeah, that's what it's for, noise that is there that shouldnt be.
Maybe....
If you want the best set up that you can have you must find each and every little pop n sizzle that you can. And then use the nb if you need to.

This all started with my s10. Well this particular issue anyway. It's coming through the am/fm as well as the 2way, shhh shhh shhhh shhh shhh shhh shhh shhh. Roll forward shhh. Stop shhhhh. Roll forward nothing. Stop nothing. I could stop the truck and not have any shhh and as long as I didnt move there was nothing. Roll a bit and it was back. 30mph and it seemed gone but it was just fast enough there was no gap between the noise anymore just constant shhhhh. Jacked the rear up and there it was. Just in the rear. Brakes, tranny, drive shaft, rear end? Electrical shhhhh noise was coming from the electric speed magnetic sensor. Unplug it and it all goes away. The speedometer reads fine and consistent, but causes terrible noise.

Anyway, just thought it might save some one a headache. I've ordered a new pick sensor. Ill check back in and let you know.

Yeah it like a broadbanded transmitter right now. My Hope is that the magnetic pickup is messed up and the shhhh shhhhh every rotation is only broadcasted because of that.
I'm battling a issue too with my vehicle. Its has noise on channels like 20 22 24 ect, the even number channeks. Sadly the locals here on am run channels 20 22 and 28 the channels I have noise on! I asked my tech what I can do. He said if its through the antenna I'm 100% screwed.

I dont know your tech but it sounds pretty defeatist to just say you're screwed. IF IF IF it is not local noise. Theres nouse everywhere and the only ones we can fix are usually the ones in our own equipment. So the question is what kind of noise and are you sure it's coming in the antenna

Are you talking about the sensors on the brakes for the ABS, or the speed sensor on the back of the transmission?

nfsus, you probably already know this, being a noise fighter, but if the new sensor makes noise as well you might try some ferrite on the wires going to it.

with ferrite, never expect just one snap on bead to kill a problem. it usually takes a few and sometimes a couple of feet worth.

Staybolt, if you happen to have an SDR in your local area, you can watch the entire CB band on the waterfall display and it might tell you whether or not there is some sort of local signal messing with CB in your area on certain channels.

here's a link to see if there is one in your area, just click on the icon in the top left corner to get to the map.

He can be something else but hes the only halways decent tech around. He has to run the bench and retail both so hes stretched on time.

Ok I'm a dummy. I replaced a working pickup with a working pickup. It's still making the chuff noise. I've since then read about a pulse conversion module that converts the rpm into a signal the spedo can use. I'll look there next. I'm on the right path it's just got more crap than the good ol trucks we had

The noise has been found. It is the vss buffer module also called the DRAC. It is involved with the spedo, abs and cruise control. It was indeed broadcasting broadband rf that the two way and am/fm were picking up. Took a while to narrow it down. Anyway, off to correct the issue. Another headache leads to another headache.
