Anyone know the total length of the Avanti Sigma 5/8 wave ground plane radials? I dug mine out today and cant remember the settings.

It doesnt ay a thing about the overall length...

The ad indicates the radial are 9' feet long. The specs show the element lengths added together are 108", but that does not allow for any overlap of the 5/8" and 1/2" radials which are secured with a hose clamp. My guess in this case allowing for 3" inches of overlap where these tubes connect would produce about 105" inch overall radial length. That length seems pretty common for CB with such material diameters.

I don't think you will notice much difference in performance if you are a little off with the radial dimensions either way, but I would tend to go a little shorter.

you can't get it wrong if you have the original tube and tips, the 5/8 radial tubes have a dimple stop set at the correct overlap.

No i dont have the original radials. I had to make my own. The antenna is pretty beat up for being put up and taken down a lot. I had it laying by the fence for years when i moved back home..
