Band conditions

Yes things are heading toward Winter/Fall conditions....Finally!
Static levels dropping on 80/40 meters and bands "stretching out" couple hours before Sunrise and after.....
Several Euro's heard between 2-4 am EST, with strong sigs:D

Worked a mobile in SC this morning headed to the SHELBY,NC Hamfest...running a IC706(80w) and a small screwdriver antenna...

Europe was heard this morning on 10m...right after Sunrise, for about an hour...and this was on SIRO 27? at only 15-20ft up from here in the Midwest...

6m Op's were active also this morning...working OH/PA/FL and points West for couple hours after Sunrise....close-in short hop was good to over 100 miles...using 3 Ele. at 45ft and 100w with good signal strength holding for time to 'Rage Chew" a little....
Bring it on.....

Going to Findlay,OH Hamfest next weekend...Maybe find a bigger 6m Beam?:D
All the Best
BJ

Listening 28.455 and 50.125 today

Sweet, I need to get my 6 meter ant back running. Storm took the rotator out and the last 2 elements off the beam. Homebrew 6 meter beam at 55 foot. But I do have my cane pole still up.

Running a Yaesu 757 into a Hygain TH6DXX at 30 foot here today.

Great condition on 12m from the East Coast. Lots of fun.

The higher HF bands are pretty flat this morning...17 to 10 meters...getting a few stations on 20 but nothing really strong....17 to 10 were open late yesterday, close to sunset with stations being heard from all over the states, and out into the pacific rim

Got a contact with New Zeland and Amercian Samoa about sunset ....

Maybe the bands will pick up a bit more today

Update....Hearing Western Europe here at the moment on 17 meters....not very stable conditions but the band is open .....15 meters has some very weak signals but they are in there

Anyone got a prediction on a good 10m weekend soon? We need to get a club contest scheduled :)
