Barefootin' it.

Cool.
Do it all the time.

Enough power gives you an edge when the band is jammed up, and you are part of the problem.

Nevertheless conditions will roll it your way.

When I can't get through, I walk away. Another day. . .

This is the season of the year when E-skip comes in so it's definitely the time.

When propagation (skip) is in, you don't need the power. 5W will be the same to the 'DX' as it is to a local when conditions are right.

I ran power on CB most of the time to be able to talk to locals over all the noise when the cycle was at peak. Talking out of the area didn't need the power a lot of the time.

I used to have daily conversations with guys in TX from NJ in a mobile running 4W AM all the time, but to talk across town during that cycle I needed the power.

When conditions are right, all is well!!! Great Job.

I talked to Jupiter, FL.
NY, NY
New Jersey
and
Amhearst, MA

today on "about" 10 watts on the 10 M SSB Phone Band.

(No meter in line, and no linear, either...)

I like it!!!

Talking bare foot ( or QRP )
Develops typically far better skills
And or using of best possible antenna, feedline and or mikes.

Anyone can get out with endless power..
Try shutting down people on channel 6
While you yourself are talking QRP
( i have done so several times when ship is to be had ...and when i do...then they are like...who are you and what are you running)
