I just want to share a story to all that will read with the intention of not bashing or being mean but to inform all of the rest of the really good people of the forum. I have had a good contact from the forum for a decent amount of time till one deal went bad and I got burnt from WR989_Dan. I'm going to give the details, so a few months back I see a post selling a t/s dx 350 for sale or trade for older cobra or d104 mics it just so happens that I had a cobra 142gtl and a messenger 4230(I think) and a d104, sent him a pm got a response and a few days later I got a t/s dx 350 and a soundstream 25amp p/s and a t/s skelaton 100 for the stuff mentioned above, I was tickled pink as was Dan. So the story goes on,we had several phone conversations over the next several weeks, I came across another bit of stuff.. a cobra 140gtl a midland (great condition) and a d104 with extra head complete and a extra element(new) called Dan up and let him know what it was and asked if he was interested,he said yes so we started hashing out a deal for all of it,he would send me $60.00 and a commander 2500 base amp, a connex carcus radio and a 300 watt dummy load, he pays his shipping I pay mine, well I ran into $$$ issues so I sold my t/s 350 so I could send his box of stuff out,prior to doing this I called and asked again if he still wanted it all he said yes so I shipped. Ok here is where the BEWARE part comes into play, he tells me its shipped... texted me a tracking #, I go to chk it... not a valid #, I call him, he says just dropped it off wait till morning let it get into the system.. ok I wait..next day still same thing, then he calls me saying state pd and home land security showed up @ his house asking why he is shipping a bomb.... supposedly the commander 2500 amp was giving off radiation(lmfao) ok so what are you going to do to make this right? I ask, he says he will pay me straight cash, $110.00 and the parts, radio and dummy load. I give him the option to decline my package when it gets there if he doesn't want to do the deal now, he says no he wants the stuff, I ask him when can you ship out the rest of my stuff? He says on Thurs. I say ok... so Thurs. comes and goes he says Fri.... so Fri. comes and goes then he tells me that it will be Mon. his sister is giving him a chk for $5grand over a mortgage something or another, all the while he already has the package I sent him.. so Mon. comes and I call him... no answer, then get a text saying his wife had lasik surgery today let him get her fed and the kids homework going then he would send me $ through paypal... then no more communication at all( I called and texted several times with no response) so I call his local pd and they tell me to contact mine... so I do, an officer comes out and leaves him a message, tells me to contact the pd if no response, so the next morning I get a text saying he is on a field trip with his kids, as soon as he gets home in a few hrs. he will send me my $... to date that is the last time he tried to communicate with me at all. I've called,texted, all with no response. So the point of all this is so that no one else gets ripped off by this con man. He is a liar, a thief and is very gifted with excuses. All I wanted was my $ for the stuff that he already had in his possesion. Hopefully I have not offended any of the good folks on here and get kicked off of the forum.
