I have been working on my QSL Card design today and was wondering what you all think of it so far.

I'm still working on it. I just wanted to show what I had up to now. I'm deciding on how I want to format the rest of it.

I really like the one with the dog. lol Way better than I could have ever come up with. How did you make the red and black lettering? I really like that. Thanks for the input from everyone. I will keep you all posted on what I come up with.

Peter,
I use an old graphics program that I've had for a lot of years. The character fonts are available for almost anything you can possibly think of. You already did the 'hard' part, laying out the card, reporting block and so on. The rest was just plugging in things. I've done this sort of thing for lots of years, QSL cards, SSTV, etc.
Assuming that you've got a printer, the larger sized index cards are very nice to print QSL cards on (usually two to a card). Or 'card stock' from a printing shop if you can find it. The background or pictures are from the internet, there's almost no limit to what you can find.
I think it's fun.

Very Cool. I'm using the free program Gimp. I'm not that savvy with it but I'm giving it my best try. I figured I would come up with the image design and then take it to the local print shop to have them make the cards. The original image is 5 by 8 but I'm using a higher resolution so I could probably shrink it down to 3 by 5 if need be.

Good stuff! Good card! Let us know what the final version looks like!

I have several cards for different modes. I operate big boat anchor AM, so I have a couple of "classic" style cards. I also have a standard SSB DX card for quick DX contacts.
Here are my cards:
The first card is my "classic retro style" front-report card. The back is empty for comments. The second card is one version of my AM card. Classic style with a back report form, post card style. The third card is a variant of the same. Notice that all the report forms are retro style: GMT for time and "Mcs" for frequency. The last card is my contemporary standard DX and casual SSB QSO card.

Great examples Ed. I think I'm going to for the post card style reverse for my card. Here is what I have come up with so far. Cool thing is, the original card that I have created is saved in layers, so I can add, show, hide, or whatever as many images and items as I want in whatever combination. Here is a picture of how I have it so far. The "snow storm" background can be changed to whatever I want too.:)
