browning mark III recive no transmit

have a browning mark III plug it in all is well lights and receive. key the mic and the transmit meter swings hard but no one hears me. also when i press the spot button on the transmiter to bring the receiver on freq, the meter on the transmiter swings and not the meter on the receiver. what he heck is wrong, been sitting for a while. :? :?

i had this happen in the mobile but dont know if this will apply to you but in my truck the antenna mount wasnt grounded. I could hear perfect but no one could hear me! The antenna you are using grounded?

yup grounded with an 2- 8' ground rods spaced 6' apart.
