When I was a kid I had a neighbor that was a Ham Operator , he was a nice old man that use to take us kids in to show us his set-up ... his walls were covered in QSL cards from all over the world . It was the first time I had ever heard of Ham Radio (which sounds funny to a kid ... lol).
Anyway , I distinctly remember his set-up being a pale blue color (and he had the complete set) , not the Heathkit green ... but a pale blue . Years later , when I was in my mid twenties , I was helping a friend in his second hand store and I saw a complete set-up that looked just like the old man's set-up . It may , or may not have been the old man's , it's hard to say ... my friend was always buying whole estates out .
Anyway , when my friend had this set-up I took a close look at it and noticed that the brand name on it was Browning ... which shocked me , because by this point I was into C.B. and was familiar with the Browning name , as a C.B. company ... not a Ham Radio company .
All of the years that I've been into radio ... both C.B. and Ham , I've never seen this type of set-up again . When I mention it to people they seem confused and shocked at the same time , and I can "Never" find any information online about a Ham Radio made by Browning ... yet I've seen it twice in my life with my own eyes .
So my question is this :
Has anyone out there ever seen or heard of a Browning Ham Radio ... or know someone that owns one ?
If so , please let me know because I've been trying to track down some sort of information about this Radio .
Thanks
