Wow...What a day it has been!
My best contact today was from central Tennessee out here to the central coast of CA.

I run a barefoot station, just a stock Magnum OmegaForce and an IMAX2000. It was because of the skip CONDITIONS that I had sooo many stations tell me that I was coming in like a local - from Vancouver BC all the way to Las Vegas NV and Eastern AZ. Cowabunga!

Conditions are great.

Until/about 12 noon/PST; skip was a'poppin around here in Central CA. I talked to MI, LA, GA, and MO. The best contact I made was to a mobile station in Rocky Top, TN. Frequencies I used - were all over the normal 40 channels - all on AM mode.

I don't run any RF amps. But I made many contacts using the gear mentioned in my signature. I had many more possible contacts that I didn't acknowledge. It seemed that when I gave out my call numbers ('444') - a dozen people tried to reply all at once. Seems that all of the reports were saying my station sounded like a talk show! No thanks; you can keep Howard Sterns - Thank You Very Much...

Conditions were very good - but strangely brief. At noon - it seemed as though a switch had been turned off - and it vaporized just like that. I hope I can do it all again tomorrow and write down more of the contacts I make. It only took less than a half hour to make all the contacts that I did.

Wow! It was hopping everywhere today' wasn't it?!?

It sounded like a real mess for awhile. But I got with it and made some nice contacts.
I know some of you must have the same experience. Even Ontario was barreling in here. Hopefully - tomorrow too!

Today, I hooked up the Galaxy 95t2 with a Turner+3 mic.
Made quite a few contacts:

806 Mich
427 Mich - long QSO
549 Windsor Canada - long QSO

I heard 251 W Virg, 396 N.Y., and some others that I couldn't get verification from.
Conditions became 'iffy' about this time.

The Turner mic worked much better than the D-104/M6 did on this Galaxy. All the way around; AM was getting far more flowers - and SSB reports were very pleased as well. Nice mic. I think this radio and this mic are a usable combination.
