Ok so i have this texas star sweet sixteen, its about 1yr old and one of the dei transistors has failed. The other 7 are just fine. I cant seem to find any new dei transistors, so can i just put a hg in its spot and call it good? If i have to do all 8 matching etc forget it. The amp will be scrapped.

I’ve mentioned a few times on the board that I don’t think Texasstar matches transistors.
No one wants to bite, lol. Just kidding, (but your thoughts on that would be welcome).
Anyway, he could pull the other and test it, and the seek a replacement with a comparable value. Been done here many times.

If he finds a dei or two what are the chances they will match the other pills well enough to run? I haven't played with them.
It doesnt sound like a good recipe to me.
If it were me id sell it as is and cut my losses or repill it in hg C series and sell the dei's. Ive been hearing good reports from the hg c series 2879.
Sucks when this happens and even more so now that the supply is spotty.
