Planning a purchase of a Magnum 257.... Had a blue face a while back, 30 watt I believe, received it for payment from a friend for helping with some projects. He did not like it as it was a bit out of his norm for a CB!
I gave it back to him, toned down a bit, for a birthday gift in June of 09. He still didn't like it and sold it for 65 bucks to a fellow CBer who lives off the the power grid. The friend who I had given it to said not to say that he had sold it.
Last May he passed away from a massive heart attack.... The fellow who lives off the grid, just of late told me of the Magnum he bought and I responded that it did not bother me a bit!
This week he wanted to trade for my TRC485 as the Magnum is too much for his home power supplies, draws too much current. We made the trade and we both are where we want to be and I have a memory of my friend!
