Just had to share this.

Local wanted me to modify his old TS-450. He had the top off waiting for me, but when I peered inside....Yuck!

Cat obviously thought it was a good place to upchuck. Supposed to call me when it's cleaned and dried.

That’s terrible. That reminds me of a MacBook Pro that was brought to me a few months back.

It was very flaky and wiping it and reinstalling the OS didn’t clear up issues, half the time it didn’t recognize the hard drive and it never recognized the dvd drive.

Opened it up, roaches everywhere!! Roach poop and piss, everywhere! I quickly shut the back cover and grabbed a trash bag and threw it in, wrapped it up and taped it up. Called the owner and waited til he got there to tell him the “bad news”. He’s never brought it back, cleaned out and ready for repair. I’m not complaining.

Most likely it will not do any damage providing every trace of it is cleaned up. Even residue can cause unwanted resistance and can damage the rig the first time its powered up. . usually...after the obvious cleaning an application of tuner cleaner twice a day for a week will do lysol or other cleaning products should never be used on electronics. They will leave a resistance residue or ruin the insulation on If can wires or Rf chokes...and damage insulators.

I believe he was being facetious about the Lysol. A good detangler might be needed though, to get the hair balls to turn loose.

You could have used compressed air to clean it all out; but that would give the phrase 'blowing chunks' its true meaning.
