Funk Service can set you up, they are located in Austia, i have used a few of there FM kits and they work good but you will need to get to install it, mine used the CB/PA switch and another thing is you may get a DDS which sounds nice or find a Teck that could is stack 2 of the knobs so that you would have a open know and have the Teck put the switches in a band selector selector then he would need to
realine it all up again, could be costly though

I would love to see a writeup on these fm boards, I am thinking of putting one in my 138xlr. I emailed funkservice the other day about a 7.8mhz module.

26.805 is a little ruff for me on my mobile because I have my antenna tuned for the top of CB so I can limp along on 10meters when needed.

What are some common channels people are getting contacts in the "legal" band? Looks like I need to start listening to ch30 in addition to checking ch1.

Ch 31 (27.315 MHz) is an FM voice calling frequency in Europe in the standard 40 channels (CEPT & FCC).

We've been using legal FM in the UK since 1981, and I can honestly say that FM works considerably better then AM in today's noisy environment. I can get at least double the distance on FM as I can on AM. Audio quality is also much better on FM.

Our calling channels are 14 (27.73125) and 19 (27.78125) on the UK channels and we also use the EU FM calling channel 31 (27.315).

in my area we got a few who bs on 31.never hear any fm activity yet anyhow

A few locals here also chat up AM 31; some DXers as well.
A write up/article comparing 1/2λ and 5/8λ short range limitations with 5/8λ have me believing it, with my Imax at 23' AGL. I've got the DX range ears. Can't wait to get SY-3 and Imax up to 36'; but, recent BP issues has blocked progress.
A while back 24 or was it 25 was also quite active locally.

Took Cobra 2000GTL in to Sambo's CB Shop today for it's 50 year tune-up. Tweak the valves, bleed the brakes, and a grease job included. Daniel put it on the scope, he insisted I stick around, quickly looked at nearly half dozen characteristics saying it was pretty close but he'd tweak it to perfection. Said the Audio to noise ratio wouldn't need much at all, if any. This is for a near 50 year old radio. One of my grand sons will enjoy it for the next 50.

Sadly, the C2000 doesn't have FM. I switched over to Stryker SR955, during the absence of my lovely, gave a shout out on 1, 30, and 31 FM; then cranked up the FatBoy. I think I woke someone Could just barely hear someone, on 30, a million miles away; there is life on this planet!

So tell me, on FM...there is no evidence of voice modulation? No deflection in the wattage meter?
