Hey everybody new to this site. Glad to see people are still on the radio other than truckers. I got into this way back in 78. A radio and antenna fo my birthday. It was great as I met a lot of nice people on the radio including my wife. No kidding.
I live in the western NY area not far from Niagara Falls. The radio has gone almost quiet other than skip .I have 2 Kenwood TS 430s and several CB radios.
Well got to go have an old timers hockey game to play.

Take care Jerry

Yet there are companies out there making "NEW" radios expecting too make a profit?

Silly if you ask me.

I live near a nuclear power plant in the middle of cornfields, the road to the nuke plant is pretty much dead except for traffic from the employees from the nuke plant, there are 2 bars on this road, both very popular during shift changes.

Some lady decided to open a christian book and gift store on this road. I drove by the first night and said, "this place will be closed within 90 days. Some people just do not think when they put out their hard earned money. Needless to say the christian store closed with in 30 days, they reported "ZERO" business. DUH!

That store may be better elsewhere, but not there.

There are people on this very forum that feel they are privledged because they claim to know who REALLY owns a new radio builder and claim to "know" the ins and outs of the company.

Big deal!!!!!!!!! my question is WHY? Why build a radio and put out all this money and expect to turn a profit on a hobby that is in a downward spiral. I think this is mostly due to the sun cycle, not because its not a fun hobby.

Maybe I am wrong? I am sure people will tell me so

CB I guess though is not really dying its the sun cycle on a low.

Spend wisely.
