You can never be too careful...

Considering what some people seem to be doing to youtubers that repair/modify radios.... I am not surprised to see a weapon in frame.

There seems to be a few youtubers talking about this issue of late.

Sometimes a radio has been modded to death and it is easier to just put it out of it's misery. Compassionate ending is preferable to more torture.

Just make sure your soldering iron doesn't start touching your cylinder or a random round on your table. That would wake you up for sure :) I've not paid attention to where I set down my soldering iron when answering the phone and melted a hole through the side of my frequency counter.

I was raised around firearms - all kinds. I see nothing wrong with that video. Just because a gun is in the frame, it offends?!?
It mostly offends the 'progressives' media.

The media has a campaign going for some time against firearms. These folks need to go on a local 'ride along' program with the local deputy sheriff's office and understand the world they live in and human nature - better. Guns aren't the problem; people are. Always has been.

My family has always been prevalent in two fields of employment.
Law Enforcement or Preachers of God's word. Guns were always around and I owned a Western-Auto tube fed semi-auto .22 caliber rifle that I carried down city streets at the age of eight years. No body ever looked twice at a group of us walking to our target range or hunting areas with our rifles in plain sight.

I remember a preacher that ran a CB shop at a truck stop about 15 years ago. A local , lets just call him disgruntled, claimed the preacher at the CB shop stole a galaxy 99 from him and pulled a revolver on him when he tried to get it back. The local was crazy and I don't blame the preacher if he did keep a weapon under the bench.

I do have a problem with people that buy and show off their firearms pretending to be a bad ass. A person buying an AR-15 that thinks AR stands for "assault rifle" fits into that category.

Oh dear god....
But who was offended?

I believe the thread is about the safety of guys working on radios.
Not some political agenda.

The media blows things outta proportion I think Robb was stating an observation in the USA, as this fake "issue" gets way too much air time (Like gender politics, only this 'crusade' is far more dangerous). The people who question if we should hold onto the second amendment do not understand why it was put in place. (to prevent Government tyranny)
