Doctor, check out this link. You can Google Wolf Radio and check out his whole site and all his antennas. I think you will find this one is more similar to what you are asking about than the Siro Star 27 that BM and Funky referred to you. Both are similar designs.

This guy (Wolf Radio) may not be making his antennas any more. I have one, the 50_11M and you probably won't like it.

My 1/2 wave no ground plane Point 50_11M with a homemade ground plane added. It was hard to tune and when you moved it the tune changed. I added the GPK off an A99 using 1/4 wave radials and it did not improve the tune or the antenna as best I could tell. The antenna works great, but it has other flaws that Wolf should have fixed. Wish the image was better, but you can see the details on the Wolf site.

Yep that is the one, I have seen.
I will check the other antennas out. and nticed in the catalogue that came today that Sorio does make one with a square type of rings on the bottom.

I have a Sorio 2016, but the usual high winds are taking its vertical shape out of it<whats new>. Depending on the Spring winds what it will look like.

Thanks guys

Our Ringos are Number One
Tough performers at a good price! The Ringo family of dependable, cost effective antennas has served more hams - from novice to veteran extra - than any other amateur antenna made. Simple, straightforward design, light weight and quick, easy installation make the durable Ringo family right for you. Ringo's top performance and low cost mean more dB per dollar - an equation anyone can appreciate.

These are the original W1BXFM Ringos. If you want a combination of compact size, wide bandwidth, a low radiation angle, these economical antennas are just for you. Since radials are not needed, you can even use our Ringos indoors. Our Ringos are 1/2 wave and include built-in lightning protection. Put up one of these easily installed antennas and start enjoying!
AR10 /freq range 28-30Mhz

I used one for years...Great antenna...takes a beating. I am going to install a new one hopefully this spring on the top of my Rohn/HDBX free standing 60ft'er. I had one up 60 ft at the base before and could work the world. Low noise and very strudy antenna. I would recommend it to anyone.(y)

You are right about the wind Doctor, and it does not necessarily have to be strong where the weakness in parts and construction design are concerned. The wind and weather just has to be consistent.

My 50_11M is broken. I can fix it, just never did. I thought Eddie Wolf should have done that for me---if I sent it back. He even suggested that he would fix the base mount problem and send me a new inductor coil after he told me it was the wrong size. He posted words to that effect right here on the WWRF. He never did that though. So, I don't feel bad talking bad about his stuff where it is poorly made and designed. I use to praise his quality products until I looked real close.

My problems here are similar to those in the Merlin thread that is going on right now in this topic area of WWRF. You will read all kinds of stuff there. I would go into detail, but no one wants a lot of words when smiley faces will do. I have posted too much already.
