Illegal.

That new ham police guy is really slipping.

Actually that thing looks really familiar. I've seen that before.

Looks very similar to "The Mod" that is available for the MB8719 chassis. I have one in a 148 and it covers all the way up into 10m. Have actually used it on 28.400USB to make a few QSOs

The guy who designed and built it is an Austrialian named Mac, but in "the_mod" circles he's generally referred to as Mad Max. He's definitely intelligent and builds a really nice unit, but he's a little hard to deal with sometimes. Currently he's trying to find distributors for his DigiMax and if you buy them in large quantities he'll give you a whopping 10% off!! Yeah, not much room for profit in there, which is why he still hasn't found a distributor yet.

Here's "Mad Max's" eBay Page (US) and web site.

Personalities aside, from all reports I've see his unit does seem to work exactly like he says it does.

I have a Grant LT / MB8719 / Phillipine made. Very interested in one of these (like the looks of the new LesComm L4D5). You apparently have yours set up for normal 40 & all the way through 28.500. What procedure do you use to access both XX.005 / XX.000? Your radio broad-banded enough?

Thanks, Geoff
